Building on strengths within

Prior to attending most people have tried strategies to help themselves resolve personal issues. Although the strategies may have helped in some ways, new stressful situations can cause setbacks with the problem resurfacing. Psychological counselling will uncover the blocks so that change can occur in permanent and constructive ways helping the person to move forward and to grow as an individual.

I can help you with the following issues:

  • Build confidence and self-esteem
  • Manage trauma and cope with loss
  • Conquer feelings of depression and anxiety
  • Overcome phobias and fear
  • Control anger
  • Manage stress at home or at work
  • Cope with injuries and health problems
  • Resolve family conflict
  • Develop meaningful relationships

The Benefits

Whether its problems or issues that have been with you for a long time or have more recently developed, individual counselling will give you the tools to control and manage the issues. Your energy and concentration can be put towards getting ahead rather than continuing to suffer and staying stuck.

What about the stigma

Many people believe that the need to ask for help is a weakness. This is not the case. For example, research suggests that 1 in 5 people will have a depressive episode some time in their lives and 50% of young people will suffer from some form of mental illness with most suffering prior to the age of 25. Depression is not a condition that should go untreated. It takes resilience and courage to recognise that help is needed and to then seek it out.
